TINKTURE ROSE GIN LEADS THE PURIST REVOLUTION

Devoted to organic food and nutrition, mum of two Hannah Lamiroy from Cornwall, strives to eat and cook with only the purist ingredients but she struggled to find an alcoholic drink she could enjoy to match her exacting standards.
Hannah set out to create her own delicious, yet clean, tipple and started experimenting in her Cornwall kitchen with the finest English flavours and ingredients from her garden including the quintessentially English rose. She created a classic golden gin that when mixed with tonic, turns to a beautiful dusky pink and so Tinkture’s rose gin was born – www.wearetinkture.com.
The rose gin is created from a simple – and secret – blend of eight certified organic, ethically sourced prime ingredients. This ensures the gin’s purity; a delicate and divine taste with the provenance and authenticity preserved from petal to pour.
The hero ingredient is David Austin’s edible English roses which are lovingly bred and hand picked by Jan at Maddocks Farm Organics. The award-winning farm is the only edible flower specialist in the UK to have an organic license.
Picked from May till October, Hannah uses the freshest petals – never dried or concentrated – to create different rose gin vintages, distilled by hand in small batches in beautiful copper pot stills near Penzance on the Cornish coast.
The resulting taste is light and refined with a subtle hint of citrus. Key botanical notes of juniper and coriander provide a gentle depth and warmth to every sip. The British weather plays its part too in creating sometimes rich, sometimes spicier notes in the rose gin vintages.
Tink is Hannah’s 94 year old Grandmother and Tinkture’s muse. Still an avid green-fingered gardener, Tink taught Hannah a deep love, respect, and passion for growing. Hannah remembers fondly a childhood spent in Tink’s garden, watching, learning and listening to her Grandmother – a family dedicated to achieving exceptional results.
Talking about Tinkture Rose Gin, founder Hannah said; “A desire to keep our bodies healthy is at the heart of all we do at Tinkture and it drove my passion to start creating a clean alcoholic drink.”
She went onto say: “I’m excited to have created something so special, relevant and interesting that can be shared and enjoyed by all of those who are conscious of what they eat – they can now enjoy Tinkture safe in the knowledge that what is passing their lips is pure and clean, whilst also knowing exactly where it’s come from.”
Hannah chose original glass chemistry bottles with glass stoppers for her rose gin, which are bottles for life, and can be topped up with refill pouches. Her father in law – a professor of architecture – designing the unique label which embodies the fierce grace of Tink and the family brand.
Tinkture Rose Gin costs £45 for a 500ml bottle or £75 for a 1000ml bottle from www.wearetinkture.com. 50ml tasting bottles are also available for £10, perfect for a refined thank you gift or wedding favour.
