When it comes to chartering the ultimate private jet, music stars, Hollywood icons, global celebrities and multi-millionaires seem to have one thing in common: the Gulfstream G 650ER is number one on their wish list.
There’s something about the iconic aircraft which gives it an aura, even in a world in which luxury is common place.
Chapman Freeborn global private jet charter specialist, which has been around for almost 50 years and includes some of the top music and film industry celebrities amongst its client list, has confirmed our suspicions and named it the ultimate aircraft for the world’s jet setters.
Anton Frolov, VIP Operations Manager at Chapman Freeborn, said: “We’re passionate about private jets here and it’s fascinating to see which ones our clients choose.
“Most of our clients are pretty knowledgeable and know exactly which one want they want to charter. They know what size, what type and what specification.
“What they want most, however, budget allowing, is the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER. It’s iconic and has a real following. So, in the same way that people fall in love with a Ferrari or their gadgets, others are passionate about Gulfstream – and the best Gulfstream of all is the G650 range.”
Anton believes it isn’t only the stunning looks of the jet which makes it popular, however.
“It’s about the technology, too. The 650ER is the latest in the fleet and one of the most advanced on the market of its type.
“The jet features 100 per cent clean air cycled through it, which reduces fatigue on long flights.
“The cabin pressure is also a lot lower. Most jets are set to about 6,000ft, the Gulfstream to 2000ft, which can leave you feeling fresher after your flight.
“On top of that it has a really long range for a private jet – more than 14 hours. Only the Bombardier 7500 Global can go further. And it’s one of the fastest, too, up to Mach 0.925.”
The jet isn’t the only one chosen by Chapman Freeborn clients, of course. Different jets may be suitable for different journeys and each client has their own special preference.
But it is certainly one of the most comfortable, with an unusually wide cabin and up to four living areas.
“It also has very large oval windows – and one of our clients says that’s the main reason they choose it, because they love to look out the windows,” said Anton.
“But there’s one thing more than anything else which makes it popular – and that’s prestige.
“Gulfstream is number one, no doubt about it. It has the ultimate brand recognition.”
